About the blog

Hi everyone!

If you know me, you know I have always wanted to be a nurse. Okay, let me rephrase that, if you REALLY know me, and we go way back, you will remember I first wanted to be a plastic surgeon for many years, starting in the third grade (lol). But ever since early high school when I took a course which all of my teachers were nurses, I was set on nursing for good. I truly feel that my personality fits every facet of what it is to be a nurse. So if we met, even for a few minutes, you’d probably remember me telling you I was on this pursuit. And now I’m here! I just very recently passed my NCLEX  and can call myself a Bachelor’s prepared Registered Nurse!!! Soon after, I accepted my first official job offer and my orientation begins February 2014.

I have been wanting to start this blog for a while now. Nursing school is no easy feat and it doesn’t get easier from there. I really struggled emotionally in the post-grad phase of job seeking so I wanted a place where I could write all of my advice and feelings for nursing students, new grads and nurses as well as have somewhere to write about my adventures as a nurse. I know there will be highs and lows and I look forward to sharing these experiences and hearing from other nurses/students as well! (and anyone else really).

Also, side note, I was born and raised in MD but I am moving to Myrtle Beach, SC (my favorite place in the whole world) to start my first job as a nurse! So I can’t promise there won’t be posts about moving to a new place, living by the beach, gaining independence, etc! Scary and exciting times ahead..

Thanks for reading,
